From the heart of Amador County…

Linsteadt Family Winery strives to create quality wines that are truly memorable. All of our wines are harvested from grapes that are grown, handpicked and handcrafted exclusively on our property in the Shenandoah Valley. Not only are we extremely proud of the wines that we produce, but sharing these wines with you is a perfectly balanced, full-bodied, smooth and rich added bonus!

Barbera

This is our flagship grape. Our claim to fame. The sultan of swat. The king of crush. The colossus of clout. THE GRAPE BARBINO!

Varietal:           Barbera
Acreage:          6.38 acres

TASTING NOTES:
Smooth, silky wine with outstanding structure - yet splendidly approachable.
Plum, dark cherry, with a hint of nutmeg

In a Word: GOAT
In a Song: Symphony #5 - Beethoven

Zinfandel

If they re-named the grape ‘Linfandel’ it would… no, nevermind… It would actually sound like a small Viking village, so not that… The wine’s great though!

Varietal:           Zinfandel
Acreage:           15.9 acres

TASTING NOTES:
Savory full-bodied - a perfect representative of the iconic Amador varietal.
Raspberry jam, dried cranberry, spicy clove

In a Word: Zestful
In a Song: Paint it Black - Rolling Stones

Petite Sirah

‘Petite’ solely refers to the size of the grape - NOT the wine. So careful not to upset this behemoth with the term ‘tiny’, because he’s anything but…

Varietal:           Petite Sirah
Acreage:        0.98 acres

TASTING NOTES:

Rich, heavy-bodied with targeted tannins and a classic deep purple-inky colour.
Plum, huckleberry, fig jam, a lil’ caramel

In a Word: Seductive
In a Song: Foxey Lady - Jimi Hendrix

Sauvignon Blanc

If Laura was a wine - she’d be a Sauv Blanc. It’s sweet, approachable, but crisp and pleasant as hell!

Varietal:             Sauvignon Blanc
Acreage:            6.21 acres

TASTING NOTES:
Lively and brilliantly balanced; refreshing taste with a bright, crisp finish.
Melon, pear, tropical fruit

In a Word: Lighthearted
In a Song: Here Comes the Sun - Beatles

Rosé

Life is short, and if you don’t stop every once in a while to smell the Rosé - you might just miss it.

Varietal:             Grenache Noir
Acreage:         0.80 acres

TASTING NOTES:
This isn’t a sugary, sweet pink wine. It’s dry and crisp with a plus-sized sexy body.
Strawberry, grapefruit, watermelon candy

In a Word: Pinky-Out (aka: classy)
In a Song: American Girl - Tom Petty

Grenache

Grenache puts the G in GSM. The most widely planted varietal planted in Chateauneuf-du-Pape… neuf said!

Varietal:             Grenache Noir
Acreage:          0.80 acres

TASTING NOTES:
Extremely versatile with a light, balanced body and long palate presence.
Floral bouquet, red cherry, candied fruit

In a Word: Enchanting
In a Song: Any Disney theme song

White Rose

As Billy Idol once said… “it’s a nice day for a White Rosé.” But come on, Billy— that’s every day.

Varietal:             Grenache
Acreage:            0.8 acres

TASTING NOTES:
Light and delicate Rosé of Grenache. As natural and unaltered as possible without the additional blending for color. Notes of peach and melon.

In a Word: Picnic
In a Song: Precious Love - James Morrison

Pablo’s Rojo

Paul’s Red’ just didn’t have the same ring to it. Make no mistake; this IS Paul’s red… however, he will share.

Varietal:             1/3 Zinfandel, 2/3 Barbera

TASTING NOTES:
Estate red wine blend of Zinfandel and Barbera. Juicy and full with a range of stonefruit sweetness - balanced by just enough tart cherry to keep the finish crisp.

In a Word: Tradition
In a Song: Nuthin but A “G” Thang - Snoop Dogg

Vermentino

Coming Soon…

Varietal:             Vermentino
Acreage:          Less than 0.5 acres

* ALL wines above are produced with 100% Linsteadt Vineyard grapes. From grass to the glass - all us!

** Acreage noted for each varietal represents the total vineyard acreage dedicated to each grape, not acreage used to produce Linsteadt wine.
We don’t spill (or drink) that much wine throughout the process… LFW still sells off a majority of our grapes each harvest… for now ;)
